Women Avoid These Three Kinds Of Foods To Fight Acne

If you are one of the many women who suffer from acne, you may be wondering what you can do to keep it under control. If you have tried acne treating product after product, it may be time to look elsewhere for answers.

One of the top experts on helping women have the clear skin they deserve is Mike Walden, (C.D.N., — Certified Nutritionist).  He shares in this video tips you can start doing right now from the comfort of your home to start eliminating your acne without expensive and non-effective creams, medications or other methods that already haven’t worked for you.

While your diet may be the last thing you think about when considering treatments for your skin, it may be one of the first places you should start. Although certain foods are not the cause of acne, they can cause it to worsen. However, this topic has caused a bit of controversy among certain doctors. Some believe that acne depends solely on the amount of hormones in the body while others have found in their studies that certain foods tend to cause breakouts. In many cases, these foods cause excess hormones in the body.

High Iodine Foods

When iodine makes contact with your skin, it can cause the skin to become inflamed. This response can worsen your acne and cause outbreaks. Foods that contain high iodine contents include seafood, iodized salt, onions and asparagus. Once eaten, the iodine in these foods goes into your blood stream where it is eventually excreted by the oil glands in your skin.

Certain Carbohydrates and Sugar

Studies have shown that eating too many white carbohydrates can cause acne outbreaks. This is due to the blood sugar spikes that result in the consumption of these foods. These spikes in blood sugar result in extra hormones. While it may seem impossible to cut carbohydrates and sugar from your diet, it may be easier than you think. Instead of eating foods that are high in carbohydrates, such as white bread, white rice and white pasta, you can swap them with healthier alternatives. Whole wheat breads and pastas will still allow you to eat bread without suffering the consequences, such as breakouts. Brown rice is an alternative to white rice that tastes good and is healthier for your body and skin.

When most people think of cutting sugar from their diets, they imagine being miserable and not being able to eat dessert foods. However, this is simply not true. There are plenty of sugar substitutes, such as stevia, that taste great and can help keep your acne at bay. For example, if you love sweet tea, you can order an unsweetened tea while dining at your favorite restaurant. Once it arrives, just add the sugar substitute until the tea is sweet enough for you. There is also a large selection of healthy dessert recipes that you can make.

Dairy Products

It has already been established that too many hormones in the body can cause acne outbreaks. Dairy products are meant to provide proper nutrition to baby cows. Therefore, milk-containing foods are high in hormones. In addition, if you are consuming dairy products that are not organic, they contain extra hormones. These extra hormones are given to the cows to keep them producing milk on a regular basis. While it is healthy to eat a diet that includes dairy products, you should eat them in moderation. Consuming too much dairy can cause your body to have more hormones than normal, resulting in outbreaks of acne.

Whether you suffer from one of the many types of acne, acne rosacea, acne fulminans, blackheads, ance vulgaris, ance conglobata, papules, pustules, whiteheads, nodules or cysts, the principles required to cure your acne are essentially the same.

These same principles work whether your acne is a result of teen hormones or adult stress, whether the acne is on your back, chest or shoulders, or whether your acne is from female cycles such as menopause or menstruation.
